I think people underestimate the political realignment coming. The context collapse of the internet causes everyone to frantically seek in group/out group boundaries, and portray the outgroup as unclean. So far this has happened along nominally left/right lines, but not for long.
It’s the politics of virality. If you can’t tell who has infectious brain worms and who doesn’t, every interaction is fraught with peril.
People are panic *buying* right now, but there not *panicking*. Unless you've been through a plague before, you don't know the extent of the anxiety produces by the fear of Invisible Enemies
