For any piece of narrative, of course you have to have conflict. Solarpunk is person vs environment. Climate change, AI, pandemic: it’s required they be unleashed so that we can survive and adapt to them
Stories also have to be about change. In solarpunk the changes that we’re now a global species, that we are more or less responsible for unit of matter and energy on at the Earth now. That we only have that godlike power when we coordinate. And how we change when we confront that
