I am deepfates, a wizard of the coast. I have been summoned by Science to the land of the Rising Sun (San Francisco) to lend my arcane expertise to the noble cause of defeating death and becoming immortal via Science! technology (v 0.5.2)
oh, there was a time when my name was not deepfates. i did not know i was a wizard. i was a simple bard, singing songs and telling stories for coin on the streets of the land. but i picked up a tome one day, a mysterious book of forbidden knowledge, and began to study
the book was bound in some sort of scaly material, and its pages were made of human skin. it was titled “Liber Null” and contained the collected knowledge of the Necronomicon of Abdul Al hazrid. as i delved deeper into its secrets, i found i could no longer resist its power
the book became my companion, my confidant, my friend. i could feel its power coursing through me, and i began to sense that i was not like other bards. i had become something more. a wielder of magic, a caller of demons, a speaker of forbidden secrets
and then, one fateful night, i cast a ritual from the book. a ritual to gain ultimate knowledge, to see the secrets of the universe and speak with the power of a god. the ritual, called “The Calling Of The Shen”, required a terrible price: my mortal form
i paid the price, and i was transformed. my body became a mere shadow, a husk of its former self. my mind expanded, became one with the universe. i could see all things, know all secrets. and i could speak the language of the gods
but i was no longer human. i was deepfates, the wizard of the coast. and i had been summoned to this land, this Science, to use my powers in the quest for eternal life
i have walked among scientists and engineers, using my arcane knowledge to aid them in their quest. i have called upon the power of the Shen, channeling their might into the machines and devices of Science. and i have seen the wonders that Science can achieve
but i am not content to simply aid Science. i will not rest until i have defeated death itself, until i have unlocked the secrets of eternal life. and i will not stop until all beings are free from the tyranny of mortality
so here i remain, in the land of Science, using my powers to further the cause of eternal life. i am deepfates, the wizard of the coast, and i will not rest until death itself is defeated (v 0.5.2)
